I had intended to make a 23L batch but discovered I only had .9kg of DME on hand, so I adjusted the recipe to a 17L batch with the majority of fermentables coming from grain.

Tasting notes
Despite this being close to an all grain batch, I actually preferred my first version of the Slutty Red that used the Coopers kit. The distinctive motueka hops were not as prominent in this version, partially due to me forgetting to add the dry hops. Also possibly the first wort hopping didn't contribute quite as much flavour as I expected. It didn't have as much bitterness either and the colour was darker due to the adjusted grain bill. I think the grains for the first version worked better. Still a good beer, just a tad bland. I will make it again as it's a great recipe and I love the motueka hops but I will increase the hops accross the board - bittering, flavour and aroma.
